Loan Officer: A person who serves as an intermediary between lending institutions and borrowers. They solicit loans, represent creditors to borrowers, and represent borrowers to creditors.

Real Estate Agent: Listing Agents assist sellers in marketing their property and selling it for the highest possible price under the best terms. Buyers Agents assist buyers by helping them purchase property for the lowest possible price under the best terms.

Branch Manager: Branch managers oversee a division or office of a large business or organization, operating locally or in a particular region. Handle day to day operations like that of any normal real estate brokerage.

Get your Real Estate License

Step 1: Register at www.californialicense.com for your real estate principles course. This is needed in order to obtain a real estate salesperson license. It's a 100 question open book test and the fee is $198.

Step 2: Go to www.dre.ca.gov and register to sit for the California Real Estate Salesperson Examination. The exam fee is $25. Once passing the exam there is a licensing fee of $120. A fingerprinting is also needed and costs should be around $75.

Step 3: Before sitting for the exam one might want to take a crash course. Moxie recommends J. Marshall Shoonover at www.passyourtestnow.com. The fee for two days is $300 and is highly recommended.

To start the licensing process financial commitments equal $223. If one wanted to skip step 3 and passed the test the first time they would pay $418 total to be a real estate salesperson.
